The Barshop JCC’s Jewish Journeys program offers a variety of events that bring Jewish traditions to life. From festive holiday celebrations to communal gatherings, these experiences are designed to engage individuals and families of all backgrounds.

Jewish American Heritage Month (JAHM)

Join us as the Barshop Jewish Community Center and its partners present the 2nd annual series of arts and humanities events celebrating the richness of Jewish culture and traditions, with programs centered around Celebration, Community, Film, Israel, Literature, and Remembrance.

Throughout the month, An Artistic Journey will be on display, featuring works by Jewish artist Susan Butler. Stop by to experience this special exhibit.

Join us on September 24 from 3:30pm-5:30pm at the JCC's Sukkah, on the Campus of the San Antonio Jewish Community. We will shake the lulav and etrog, enjoy roasted corn, chips and salsa! There will be crafts and games for the whole family! This family-friendly event is free and open to the community.

The JCC and Chabad Jewish Center for Life and Learning are excited to partner and bring a Judaics enrichment program to the Campus. The program offers valuable content in exploring Jewish traditions , values, holidays and culture through engaging activities, stories, crafts, and hands on experiences. Activities include Jewish Identity, Holidays and Culture, STEM, and Art & Culinary Activities. Three different class options available! Session One: August 31-October 19 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 4:00PM-5:00PM Session One Pricing: One class per week: $120 Two classes per week: $200 Three classes per week: $230 Session Two: October 26-December 7 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 4:00PM-5:00PM Session Two Pricing: One class per week: $105 Two classes per week: $175 Three classes per week: $220 *Please note there is no class on September 7 or 21. For those taking the one or two day options in session one that include Mondays, you are welcome to attend the Tuesday or Thursday class as replacement.*
