The Barshop JCC’s Jewish Journeys program offers a variety of events that bring Jewish traditions to life. From festive holiday celebrations to communal gatherings, these experiences are designed to engage individuals and families of all backgrounds.

Jewish American Heritage Month (JAHM)

Join us as the Barshop Jewish Community Center and its partners present the 2nd annual series of arts and humanities events celebrating the richness of Jewish culture and traditions, with programs centered around Celebration, Community, Film, Israel, Literature, and Remembrance.

Throughout the month, An Artistic Journey will be on display, featuring works by Jewish artist Susan Butler. Stop by to experience this special exhibit.

August 25, 2026, 7:00PM Arnon Noble is a religious man with a strong bond to his mother, a Holocaust survivor. He usually drives her to school lectures where she tells the students how she saved the lives of her baby boy and herself with the help of a thin gold ring. When the mother's health deteriorates, he travels to her old hometown, Budapest to search for the mythological ring that saved her life in the past. He turns for help to his estranged daughter who is a TV researcher and offers her to go on this journey together. Will the search for the ring be successful? Will the ring save the mother's life again and will the same ring that saved his mother also succeed in saving Arnon's relationship with his own daughter. For those with children, we are offering babysitting during the duration of the film. Please note that babysitting is offered to those with children aged 8 weeks to 9 years old. Together with Bilal, his childhood friend, and their wives, he embarks on a wild road trip across Israel and Palestine to bring Bella back. They'll get stuck at checkpoints, ruin a wedding, steal a car, join a reconciliation ceremony, and even revive an unconscious dove--- all racing to not miss the Jerusalem Dove Beauty Pageant.
