POSITION TITLE: Driver                                                         FLSA: Hourly/Non-Exempt

DEPARTMENT: Transportation                                              HOURS:  Up to 15 hours/week, in person

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Director of Systems and Operations

Drivers are responsible for providing safe and reliable transportation to programs and events offered at the    Barshop JCC, including older adult activities and after-school programs and field trips. Drivers are ultimately responsible for ensuring that the bus or van is safe to operate

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Transport older adults from home to the JCC for program events and classes.
  • Transport after-school students daily from school to the JCC and field
  • Assist older adults and children with getting on and off the vehicles as needed.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Check vehicles for oil, transmission fluid, and
  • Wash vans; report any problems with the vehicles.
  • Protect the health and safety of all transported children and older adults.
  • Attend team meetings and other meetings as scheduled by the JCC.
  • Do agency errands as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Possess a Class B, A Commercial Driver’s License with P Endorsement – Required
  • Clean driving record required.
  • Experience working with older adults and children preferred
  • Experience driving multi-passenger vehicles such as a school bus, passenger van and mini-van.
  • Infant/Child/Adult CPR and First Aid certification preferred.

The Senior Director, Programs, is responsible for oversight and strategy related to youth and camp, family, adult, sr. adult, and cultural arts programming and engagement. This position focuses on mission driven programs related to Jewish journeys and the agency’s Jewish identity.

General Overview: This position is responsible for the day-to-day program operations. Program development and program operations will be managed by establishing clear lines of communication and accountability, including the connection between administrative functions such as marketing, membership, development, and finance.  The establishment of close working relationships between staff and volunteers is critical to the success of this position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervision of youth and camp, family, adult, sr. adult and cultural arts staff.
  • Management, oversight, and coordination of all program services including staff and program scheduling, outreach, communications, and engagement. Staff appropriate committees as either primary staff or to support supervisees.
  • Manage the Jewish Film Festival and Lonestar Cinema events, including film selection process in partnership with Festival Director, marketing, fundraising, film distribution, event planning, and customer relations.
  • Manage the Artistic Journey program in partnership with the Gift Shop Manager.
  • Oversee the Author Speaker Series, including the author selection process, communicating with authors and publicists.
  • Work with CPO to develop and implement customer service strategy that supports organizational goals and enhances customer experience. Establish departmental standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent and high-quality customer interactions.
  • Design participant-focused initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction, streamline service operations, and align service delivery with JCC goals.
  • Analyze participant feedback, attendance metrics, and industry trends to identify opportunities for improvement. Evaluate and optimize the variety and mix of programs. Develop program strategy and goals.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Camp and Youth Services to ensure all program operations comply with American Camp Association (ACA) standards and to maintain ACA accreditation.
  • Assist in planning, executing, and leading special projects to enhance the efficiency and quality of JCC programs.
  • Provide vision for camp programing and lead efforts in creating outcomes based programming and appropriate evaluations. This includes leading efforts in exploring and implementing new business and partnerships.
  • Ensure that Jewish and Israeli culture and traditions are incorporated into departmental programming
  • Identify potential funding partners. Work on all agency-wide special events and fundraising projects, as applicable.
  • Serve as the program liaison to sister agencies for joint or cooperative program events.
  • Coordinate JFSA and grant program report functions with C-suite. Facilitate grant reporting and Esstman Fund Scholarship program.
  • Work with the team to develop new program opportunities aimed at growing and strengthening our mission’s reach.
  • Work with Marketing Director to coordinate marketing efforts and agency-wide promotional materials for the Program Department offerings, and to manage the department’s social media accounts.
  • Oversee and execute contracts for department contractors (artists, camp staff, etc).
  • Work with CPO to manage the department budget.
  • Works with other Jewish agencies to coordinate community-wide Jewish cultural and family events, as applicable.
  • Attend JCC program events and represent the agency at select community events, including after-hours and weekends as needed.
  • All other assignments as deemed appropriate by the CPO.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years’ management and supervisory experience.
  • 5+ years’ non-profit or similar experience.
  • Excellent project management and prioritization skills.
  • Very familiar with the local Jewish community and culture or have previously worked at a JCC or similar organization.
  • Experienced in event planning including the use of audio-visual equipment.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
  • CRM experience.

The SOD (supervisor on duty) is responsible for overseeing the Barshop Jewish Community center facilities, members, guests, staff and activities during evening and weekend hours. She/he must respond to needs and concerns in a courteous, informed and enthusiastic manner. The ideal candidate is able to work independently but also as a respectful, contributing member of a team. The position requires flexibility, good judgment and excellent communication skills. This position reports to the Sports and Recreation Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise the JCC, which includes the Sports and Fitness area, the Tennis Courts, Swimming pool, ballfields and the main level of the facility. The SOD will help implement a clean and safe environment for all users
  • Create supervisory presence and visibility by performing on-going building walk-throughs during shift, addressing suspicious or unsafe behaviors or activity, securing entrances and offices
  • Provide premiere customer service to all members, guests and staff of the Barshop JCC
  • Address member concerns and suggestions in an attentive and courteous manner
  • Report all incidents, issues and concerns to the Sports and Fitness Rec director promptly and effectively.
  • Complete incident/accident reports as needed
  • Oversee and assist evening/weekend staff working in the following areas: CID, S&F Front Desk, Gift Shop, Fitness Center, Group Fitness, Sports and Rec, Aquatics, and Maintenance.
  • Coordinate and implement set-up for programs and events in accordance with the daily schedule.
  • Maintain constant communication with CID.
  • Understand and be able to execute the Emergency Action Plans (EAP) as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven ability to effectively work with and supervise facilities, activities and staff.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • CPR/AED certification and First Aid (re-certification available)
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Position title:  Fitness Center Attendant
FLSA:  Hourly/Non-Exempt/Part-Time
DEPARTMENT:  Sports & fitness
PAY RANGE:  $12.00 – $14.00 per hour
Reporting Relationship:  Reports to Fitness & Group Exercise Supervisor

ADDITIONAL: 10 hours/week – 11:00AM – 4:00PM, Mondays and Wednesdays

This position enhances the member experience by creating a welcoming, clean and safe environment in the Fitness Center and exercise studios for JCC Members and guests while providing the highest quality of customer service.

To be successful, the candidate must:

  • Possess strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Be friendly, patient, professional and empathetic with all individuals.
  • Possess strong multitasking, prioritization, and organizational skills.

  • Develop, motivate and maintain professional relationships with members and guests by providing personal attention using a proactive approach.

  • Ensure a safe environment and promptly respond to and report safety and emergency situations.
  • Clean all equipment after member use and keep the fitness center tidy at all times.
  • Launder towels and maintain a steady towel supply for members.
  • Enforce Fitness Center and Weight Room etiquette with members and guests.
  • Continuously walk the Fitness Center engaging with members while enforcing safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Monitor equipment and report any maintenance issues to Fitness & Group Exercise Supervisor.
  • Behave as a role model by leading and promoting a healthy lifestyle and maintain a positive attitude at all times when working with members.
  • Provide hospitality to all members and guests and work together as a team with all departments.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of member information.
