The Adult, Arts and Culture Coordinator is responsible for supporting the following programs: Performing Arts, YAD (Young Adult Division), Music, Author Speaker Series, Jewish Film Festival, Lonestar Cinema, Artistic Journey and other related events. This role collaborates with other members of the department that focus on Older Adults, Family, Arts & Culture programs in supporting Jewish Journeys outreach to the Jewish community as well as our Marketing and Development teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate adult enrichment classes, programs and events.
- Communicate with other agencies and work with committees on partnered events.
- Coordinate Artistic Journey Events such as the Annual Arts & Crafts Expo and Artists in Residency Program and support Jewish Journey events such as Hands on Sukkot and Hands-on Chanukah.
- Maintain JCC website related to Arts & Culture, Adult Happenings, Jewish Film Festival, and Fogiel Gift Shop.
- Support film events such as the Jewish Film Festival and Lonestar Cinema, including the film selection process, marketing, fundraising, film distribution, event planning and customer relations.
- Communicate with authors and publicists regarding the Author Speaker Series and conduct the audience Q&A with authors following their presentations.
- Create weekly Arts & Culture e-blasts and maintain an up-to-date e-blast list.
- Maintain the YAD (Young Adult Division) Instagram and webpage accounts; plan, execute and host YAD events and support the YAD volunteer committee.
- Work with relevant teams to promote programs and events via social media, website, email and within the agency.
- Collaborate with the Senior Director of Enrichment, Arts and Culture and Gift Shop Manger to coordinate Artistic Journey exhibits, including researching artists, themes, exhibit installation and dismantling, tours, database, inventory, promotion and all related responsibilities.
- Build and maintain relationships with artists, collectors, and other exhibit curators.
- Prepare contracts with the artists, as well as reports and documents for exhibitions.
- Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards related to collections and exhibitions.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.

This position is responsible for organizational administration and human resources (HR) support for the Barshop Jewish Community Center of San Antonio (JCC). This role serves as the point of contact for all HR responsibilities including the day-to-day employee relations-related responsibilities and designated administrative responsibilities related to the Board of Directors and Executive team.
To be a successful candidate, the individual must:
- Work well as part of a collaborative team
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- Maintain a strong sense of organization and attention to detail, with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Key Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Supports the day-to-day employee relations-related responsibilities.
- Creates and executes recruitment plans for hiring for present needs and for future growth. Collaborates with appropriate staff to understand skills and competencies required for positions.
- Responsible for creating and promoting all job postings internally and publicly.
- Coordinates with staff to verify candidate requirements prior to projected start date and preparation of new hire documents. Responsible for ensuring new employee onboarding is completed thoroughly.
- Manages employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including creating efficiencies and recommendations to improve the process.
- Plans and prepares ongoing and specialized professional development opportunities for all staff and/or any department specific needs.
- Coordinates team building activities and opportunities for all staff.
- Disseminate relevant communication to staff on behalf of the Executive team.
- Serve as liaison between the CEO and the Board of Directors, including scheduling and preparing for meetings, compiling and maintaining meeting minutes, publishing Board information to the designated portal.
- Supporting CEO as needed, including coordinating schedules.
- Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Management, or related field.
- Three (3) years of supervisory experience.
- Non-profit experience preferred.
- Ability to quickly acquire knowledge of the organizational structure, mission, goals and objectives, policies and procedures.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ability to deal with diverse situations and people.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff and those contacts.
- A valid driver’s license and insured personal vehicle.

Responsible, reliable, caring individual to work in our childcare room. The caregiver will work with small groups of children, from infants to eight years old, for short periods of time while parents use the gym or other facilities in our community center. This is a great opportunity for a student.

Drivers are responsible for providing safe and reliable transportation to programs and events offered at the Barshop JCC, including older adult activities and after-school programs and field trips. Drivers are ultimately responsible for ensuring that the bus or van is safe to operate.

- Protect the health and safety of all transported children and older adults.

The SOD (supervisor on duty) is responsible for overseeing the Barshop Jewish Community center facilities, members, guests, staff and activities during evening and weekend hours. She/he must respond to needs and concerns in a courteous, informed and enthusiastic manner. The ideal candidate is able to work independently but also as a respectful, contributing member of a team. The position requires flexibility, good judgment and excellent communication skills. This position reports to the Sports and Recreation Director.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise the JCC, which includes the Sports and Fitness area, the Tennis Courts, Swimming pool, ballfields and the main level of the facility. The SOD will help implement a clean and safe environment for all users
- Create supervisory presence and visibility by performing on-going building walk-throughs during shift, addressing suspicious or unsafe behaviors or activity, securing entrances and offices
- Provide premiere customer service to all members, guests and staff of the Barshop JCC
- Address member concerns and suggestions in an attentive and courteous manner
- Report all incidents, issues and concerns to the Sports and Fitness Rec director promptly and effectively.
- Complete incident/accident reports as needed
- Oversee and assist evening/weekend staff working in the following areas: CID, S&F Front Desk, Gift Shop, Fitness Center, Group Fitness, Sports and Rec, Aquatics, and Maintenance.
- Coordinate and implement set-up for programs and events in accordance with the daily schedule.
- Maintain constant communication with CID.
- Understand and be able to execute the Emergency Action Plans (EAP) as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE
- Proven ability to effectively work with and supervise facilities, activities and staff.
- Strong problem-solving skills.

- CPR/AED certification and First Aid (re-certification available)

This position enhances the member experience by creating a welcoming, clean and safe environment in the Fitness Center and exercise studios for JCC Members and guests while providing the highest quality of customer service.
