Senior Adults

Seniors at the J know how to have a good time! From enjoying the occasional therapy dog visit, to lunch with the Early Childhood kids, enjoying special guest speakers, playing a good ol' game of "mahj",  or watching exciting performances at the award-winning Sheldon Vexler Theatre, there is never a dull moment to be had.

Transportation Services
The JCC provides transportation for members ages 65+ who live in the surrounding area to the JCC for daily programming and special events. To find out if your area of residence qualifies for JCC transportation, please call the Senior Center at 210-302-6860.
Ongoing Programs
Seniors stay active with a variety of activities offered daily and weekly.
Chef-Selected Fresh Lunch
The senior lunch program is funded in part by the Jewish Federation of San Antonio and Golden Manor Jewish Senior Services. Download September's Senior Moments newsletter and lunch menu to see what's planned for today!
Fit 4 Life
Fit 4 Life is designed specifically for moderately active seniors, and focuses on strength, balance, flexibility, and endurance, and promotes independence in aging. Most exercises are performed while seated in a chair. This class is great for anyone going through rehab or in need of non-intense exercise.

Monday - Friday | 11:00 - 11:15 am

Game Room Activities
Join other seniors for a day of friendly competition, including Mah Jongg and Bridge. Games that involve concentration, reasoning, problem-solving, memory, information processing, and/or focus will stimulate brain cells and keep neural pathways functioning. Borrow our games, or bring your own. Do you prefer to read, listen to music, or enjoy a cup of coffee? The Senior Center offers that as well!

Monday - Thursday | 10:00 am - 4:00 pm | Free to JCC Members 65+

Jewish Genealogical Society
The Jewish Genealogical Society meets the third Sunday of every month to gain the knowledge and tools needed to explore their family histories. Call the Senior Center for information about membership.
Silver Cinema Film Screenings
The JCC, in conjunction with Golden Manor Jewish Senior Services, offers a fun bi-monthly film screening at which a new film with some sort of Jewish content is screened. Film screenings take place the first and third Thursday of each month at 1:00 pm. Call the Senior Center to find out what's on next!
