|Are you looking for another 'Mahj' Game? Does your group not meet often enough and you are not getting to play as much as you'd like? Join us at the J the third Wednesday each month at 7pm in the Senior Center for a fun, FREE evening of drop-in Mah Jongg. Feel free to bring kosher snacks to share; coffee will be served. |Want to learn a new cuisine for the Holidays? Join Green Vegetarian Cuisine at the J Wed., Dec. 21 for a vegan Asian cooking class. The tasty menu includes vegetarian beef & broccoli, pineapple fried rice, sweet & sour Brussels sprouts, fresh summer rolls, and green tea tapioca pudding. During the class you'll receive a five course meal, drink, and recipes. Seating is limited. Reservations required; sorry, no refunds.|
|Anyone Can Act! | Jan. 9-Feb. 13 | 6:30-8pm
|This introductory class is designed for people from all walks of life who are interested in exploring basic acting skills as well as developing essential skills, such as confidence, focus, and public speaking. Classes will encourage students to practice new skills in a safe and fun environment. Students will use acting and improvisation techniques to learn how to effectively communicate in a scene - and in life! Some rehearsal outside of class will be required. Taught by Eva Laporte, who recently directed The Vex's production of The Diary of Anne Frank.|

|JCC Night at Painting with a Twist | Thurs., Jan. 26 | 7-9pm | $35|
|Spend a night with friends and fellow creatives at Painting with a Twist (PWAT) Alon! This is a great event to have fun and discover your inner artist. Bring your favorite bottle of wine or beverage, and paint along with a PWAT resident artist to create your own work of art to take home. Painting with a Twist will provide all supplies and instruction - no art experience is needed. We will be creating a work of art unique to San Antonio. This is an adults-only event. |Every year thousands of students visit the Holocaust Memorial Museum of San Antonio in our Campus building and now it is your chance to see this presentation. Reservations are required.

|With Tu B’Shevat right around the corner, it’s time to celebrate the Seven Species: wheat, barley, grapes, figs, pomegranates, olives, and honey. Also known as the Shivat Hanminim, these are foods the Torah describes as abundant throughout Israel. Brian, our certified cicerone from HEB Alon, will take us through a selection of beers that feature some of these ingredients. You’ll also learn some facts about beer taste, history, breweries, and brands. Space is limited; reservations are a must. The JCC needs to commit to purchasing the beer in advance, so sorry, no refunds.|
