Your Story: Meet Jeremy Rosen

Posted by: JCC Member Services on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 8:00:00 am

Jeremy RosenJeremy joined the JCC in July 2016, after moving to San Antonio to take a job at the Audie Murphy VA Hospital as an RN. Originally from the Washington, DC area, Jeremy was very involved in the Jewish community and Jewish Federation of Greater Washington. He graduated from the University of Alabama (ROLL TIDE!), and while studying there, was involved in Jewish student life. It was only natural that he continued his involvement when he moved to Texas. “The JCC is now like my home away from home because all of my favorite people and organizations are under The Campus roof,” he noted.

One of the ways Jeremy finds to get involved at the JCC is through the various adult and cultural arts programs. Jeremy never misses the *JCC’s Jewish Film Festival, held annually in February. He loves the wide variety of films with Judaic content.

As for fitness, Jeremy is a huge fan of utilizing the small training studio, which features a Life Fitness Synrgy360 Cybex FT-450, a freeform cable exercise machine, kettlebell rack, and much more. “The rowers and portable Olympic lifting platforms have been great for keeping me in shape for my long shifts at the VA,” he states.

Jeremy is no stranger to the **JCC Member get a Member Referral program: he usually ends up giving the money right back for one of our many and exciting Adult Enrichment programs. The hardest part is just deciding which!

Overall, Jeremy feels like being part of the JCC makes him feel connected to the community and his Judaism because of all of the great programs and opportunities offered. Jeremy – we are glad you have found a home away from home at the JCC where you are able to Live Up®, and more importantly, that You Belong Here®.

*The films are selected through an arduous process that includes identifying, researching, and screening more than eighty films each year to select the best to present to the community. The 2018 Festival will be held February 17-22. This year’s line-up and more information is available online.

**This month, instead of receiving $50 for referring a new member, you get $75! That is an extra 25$ for each referral! When they join, we will waive their enrollment fee-that’s $75 that stays in their pocket. But hurry - this offer is only good January, 2018. Find out more info online.
